Mo'z Art

Born and raised in El Paso, TX, USA, I attended the Art Institute of Dallas for graphic design. Living in East Texas offered me the opportunities to peddle my art and make lots of connections, Painted the walls of houston vape shops, sold paintings in the ever growing art communities in San Antonio, and tried to make myself stand out in the creative city of Austin.

I dabble in a lot of other media, like charcoal and pastels. Other forms of creative expression include playing the guitar and the violin, traveling, amateur photography, and video editing.

The most important thing in my life for a while now has been my boyfriend. I moved in with him last Christmas and I'm super comfortable. Like all relationships, we have our disagreements, but we always talk it out. That's more than what I can say about my past relationships... I'm actually not blaming my exes, I was never one to be open with everything I felt or was thinking.
For my birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with tickets to Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold in Phoenix, AZ. The concert was wild and I had a great time! It was a fantastic weekend away from the usual routine.
This post isn't really about anything. I turned 30. I saw Metallica with the one I love.
It was fucking awesome.
The end.

Happy New Year

First off, welcome to 2017. You've made it this far, and I'm really proud of you! I'm actually kind of surprised I made it here too... Anyway, my year has already started off pretty great. 2017 has already had its downer moments, but I'm staying optimistic. The first minute of New Year's Day started in the arms of my love.

Raddest Christmas Gift

Picture
Amongst some pretty great gifts, I never in my life think I would acquire an axe such as this. This is the Angus Young edition Gibson SG, and it's just about the most beautiful thing I own. My crazy amazing love surprised me with this guitar on Christmas morning. With a gift like this, I hope he knows I'm not going anywhere and that he's stuck with me forever. (I love you, babe!)

Cherry red
Mother of Pearl thunderbolt inlays
Custom truss rod cover (my initials in the style of AC/DC)
Retro tuning pegs
Gibson Hard Case

On to adulting...

Among trying to find work and peddling my artsy wares, I've also picked up tattooing. So far it's been going well; I'm not awful at it so far, and I hope I only get better. Before that makes any money, though, I'll be working at Olive Garden to gain some kind of income.

"Frozen inside without your touch
Without your love, darling
Only you are the life among the dead"

Last night, I had the pleasure of watching Evanescence tribute band, Immortal, play at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center. For those who aren't from El Paso, this is one of the bigger venues to perform at and they're using the month of August to feature tribute bands, such as Immortal and Garden Grove (Sublime tribute band).

My other half was called to join Immortal as their new drummer. In 3 weeks, he learned the entire set and played it all amazingly last night. The crowd responded positively to every song and moreso when the drummer threw out drumsticks.

I'm proud of you, love. Keep on rockin'. I'll always support you.
