To prep myself with possibly starting a podcast (about life knows what), I listen to Jenna Julien. I used to think Jenna's voice was annoying as all hell, but now I like her vocal fluctuation. It's the kind of voice that changes just enough to keep you interested and keep her interesting. I've seen just about every Jenna Marbles video, and her doing these podcasts with Julien Solomita inspires me to do the same.
I'm not the social butterfly, I'm not a public speaker, and I can barely ask strangers for the time. YouTube will offer a way to talk to people without actually physically being near them. Editing can allow me not to sound like an idiot unless I want to. Just thinking about exploring these platforms of expressions. Podbean for podcast? YouTube? Both?
