#elpasostrong I attended the Art Institute of Dallas for graphic design. I've also Painted the walls of houston vape shops, sold paintings in the ever growing art communities in San Antonio, and made myself another home in the creative city of Austin.
Don't judge me, but I have seen all the Twilight movies. There is one thing that has stuck with me and my heart from the last movie specifically... and that's Christina Perri's song "One Step Closer". The song is so slow and kind.
It's not uncommon for artists to be inspired by music, and as far as this piece goes, the only way I can portray what I love about "One Step Closer" is to write the lyrics. I copied a typewriter font with little variation. I felt it was more organic to the painting than a script font.
The song always reminds me of love... and vampires, but mostly love. My heart is possessed by a very select few, and even fewer who were lovers. People I can't forget and refuse to let go of. Good people. If you're reading this, my painting and this song is for you. I will die every day for you... and I will love you for the next thousand years.
The love of my life is a drummer who sets the beat of my heart to the rhythm of his soul.
